Kate 02:51
There’s too much at stake, you’ll never get this heart to break. Kate – ripping down everything that’s in your way. No one could ever take your place. But you’ll never get this heart to break. Kate – when the car alarm cut through the rain you were laughing in your hands like an angel up on top that night when the storm blew down the powerlines but then you stole the sheets… And the copper from my landlord’s place. You’ll never get this heart to break. Heartbreaker, heartbreaker. Kate – the court told you to stand 150 yards away. But tonight you gotta come drinking down here. Only that little riot in your Irish eyes can heal the open wounds of my Friday nights. I need your hips, need your keys, need your face. But you’ll never get this heart to break. Heartbreaker, heartbreaker… I’m calling you out!

Dust to Dust 01:18
From the metal of the train I can see my broken city move. Somewhere they’re burning a body, they’re hauling recycling… it’s 2 am. They always try to break us down but we rise above. Watching everything in this life go from dust to dust. At a very tender age you started tuning in the radio. Turning up LPs, flying down sound waves and dodging the flames. They always try to us bring us down but we rise above. Watching everything else in this life go from dust to dust.

I got a spell and I’m bound to remember. I got a spell and I’m bound to remember. Tonight history is repeating itself again as the knife of November lays bleeding and leaves are red. Leaving me in a constant state of devotion. Leaving me as the earth spins on its axis. Leaving me in a constant state of devotion. Leaving me as the earth revolves away. Leaving me in a constant state of devotion. Leaving me till the earth spins off its axis. Leaving me like your filthy barefoot orphan. Leaving me til the earth just falls away.

Lantern 03:01
Cornered you once a long time ago; don’t know how you got away. Lost in the sun; dropped my lasso in the dust. You got up that hill and got away. What breaks loose won’t let me go. Now I’m lower in the saddle and slower on the draw. I’ve dropped my hat down in many a well. I turn low the lantern light by these tall cavern walls and sleep in the shadow of the one that got away. What breaks loose won’t let me go.

She was an art school girl, with an art school girl haircut. Weary of the world, never been anywhere but the town where we were born in the town where we call home. Don’t like being together but it’s better than being alone. So we got an apartment on the wrong side of town. We paid the rent we could; she laid the mattress on the ground and we swore we’d never forget just how it felt…but I can’ t remember now. We’d lay and talk til the sun came up, or never say a thing. Skin so pale, a butterfly with broken wings. And we swore we’d never forget just how it felt…but I can’ remember now. The last words she said to me, “the truth might set you free.” So I lied and denied, and she left me.

Nothing Wrng 02:28
I’m sitting in silence, dangling from a cliff. If I crack a smile, you’ll kick me from the ledge again. A new day is dying, moon hangs from a thread. You’ve spilled the gas, now drop that match you lit – go ahead. Night after night after night after night, I try so hard to make it right but it’s wrong. Nothing’s wrong. Night after night after fight after fight. What’s wrong? Nothing’s wrong. From the second the gloves drop, in that second the sweat drips. But it’s a game of inches no one ever wins. So I’m sitting in silence. Falling from this cliff. If I crack a smile, you’ll kick me out of bed again.

Maddie Kahn 02:03
Saw you Tuesday things were not the same. I saw your new boyfriend, you told me told me his name. It was flowers, grenades, land mines, summer rains… seven years of love and hurt. But we laid our swords down like generals, we made sure we were doing good. The history that lays in that book should never get repeated, but the story’s good.
8.
Reflections 02:54
Walking around in circles moving forward and back. I tried to stay away from the inside. I got too far into it, I’ll never get back out. Flames tear at the night sky and I’m locked in my house of mirrors. I don’t wanna to give you up, but I don’t wanna let you down, caught in my reflection. Don’t get used to this. I fired all bullets, tried to fight it by throwin’ the gun. But I’m surrounded now on all sides. And these things explode real big like cruel and violent crime that end in police tape and chalk outlines… that all slowly blow away.
